Road Trip Conversations
You can start a podcast from just about anything you’re interested in. Jordan and Haley thought that their deep road trip conversations would be interesting to many people, and that was the seed planted that later grew to become the Heart of a Champion Radio! A podcast doesn’t necessarily have to be too particular about one topic. Jordan and Haley’s show touches on personal development, relationships, fitness, or anything they want to share their perspective on. If you have opinions that the world would benefit from hearing or just want to share your thoughts without even thinking of a global scale, then podcasting is the solution for that itch to communicate! This conveniently works if you’re not the type to enjoy facing a camera for YouTube videos or daily Instagram content!
Beyond Plain Text
Podcasting can drive results far different from what articles, social media posts, or even videos online can provide. When diving into topics in a conversational setting, the connection you make is much deeper than reading two to three sentences about an opinion on something trending online. For Jordan, he loves that people in his life get to know more about him and that the younger generation can receive his mentorship. For Hayley, the value they provide is validated by the community they created. The positive feedback and the yearning for more conversations show that they connect more with their audience with podcasting than just posting things online.
Making Time for Podcasts
Producing a podcast is more than just sitting down with someone in a Zoom call. It’s also making time to think of topics you want to talk about, engaging with your audience more, and the act of interviewing or having those meaningful conversations for each episode. For Jordan and Haley, they reserve Monday mornings to set their tone for the week and do the same for their listeners. This schedule means that they release their episodes and do the bulk of the podcasting work at this time (i.e., recording and planning). It’s also what works for them because they’re the kind of people that shut down more and more as the day progresses.
