The Mistake of Waiting Six Months to Start a Podcast

You have to find the balance between motion and action. Jordan describes motion as a lot of researching and planning without doing anything. Action, he says, connotes presenting yourself an opportunity for failure to happen. They had the equipment, charts were all over the kitchen, and even a list of guests was prepared, but it took them six months until they recorded their first episode! What’s more interesting is, even with all the preparation done, they still didn’t sound as professional as they wanted. On the show, both Erin and Jordan recall a quote from Russell Brunson that “your first 50 episodes aren’t for anybody else but you.” It’s a learning experience until you find your groove. Besides, no one else besides your mom and brother listens to you earlier on anyways!

“You're gonna stutter. Your audio is gonna suck. It's gonna fail, and you just have to get through the reps just like with anything.” – Erin Dimond on starting podcasts. Listen to the episode now on Operation Podcast! www.operationpodcast.com

Evergreen Content in Podcasting

Podcasting is a river that turns into a tsunami. You might start as a tiny stream flowing, getting your grip, and looking for your own voice first. Give it a year, and you’ll see people finding you, and then you realize your content is rising to the top. Once that happens, you’ll have an opportunity to create financial freedom through your platform and connect with other people who bring different business opportunities as well!

“You're sitting on a goldmine of content and business opportunity for sure.” – Jordan Dugger on the podcasting success. Catch him on this episode from Operation Podcast! www.operationpodcast.com

Promoting and Podcasting

Jordan and Erin now use their podcast for multiple business ventures and have found an incredible way to promote themselves as fitness trainers. Rather than saying you’re the best at making a change for your clients, make the story about them instead! Don’t paint yourself as the hero. The story you should tell is that they are the heroes, and you’re just the guide merely guiding them through their journey. When a potential client gets to hear it like that, conversions are much higher than turning yourself into the protagonist of your movie.
